Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

The protection of information is very important to us and a requirement we take very seriously.  Salud guards Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines. We are required by Federal and State laws to protect the privacy of all health and personally identifiable information. Employees of Salud Revenue Services must follow legal regulations with respect to:

• Disclosing PHI/PII to others

• Storage of PHI/PII

• Privacy rights

• Privacy duties

• Contacts for more information, or if necessary, a complaint

Using or Disclosing PHI/PII for Coding, Billing, or Collections

Any services provided by Salud Revenue Services may involve the use, processing, or handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with applicable privacy and security regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other relevant data protection laws. We acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Confidentiality and Security: All PHI and PII will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and security. We employ industry-standard encryption, access controls, and other safeguards to protect sensitive data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

• Compliance with Laws: Our services are fully compliant with HIPAA and other applicable privacy and security laws. We are committed to ensuring that all coding, billing, and collection activities are performed in strict adherence to these regulations.

• Limited Use: PHI and PII will only be used for the purposes of coding, billing, and collections related to healthcare services, and will not be shared or used for any other purposes without the necessary consent or authorization as required by law.

• Data Retention and Destruction: We will retain PHI and PII only for the period necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, and we will dispose of or anonymize the data securely when it is no longer required.

• Limitation of Liability: While we take extensive measures to protect the privacy and security of all data, we cannot be held liable for any unauthorized access or breaches of PHI and PII that may occur due to circumstances beyond our control.​
