Fixing a raft of AR complexities

Challenge

What started out as small-balance outsource and zero balance payment recovery program for an independent urban safety net hospital overnight turned into a total financial services outsourcing engagement. As a Salud team arrived in March 2020, the hospital’s revenue cycle director and much of the staff had gone to work for another facility, leaving a huge billing backlog. The hospital had recently changed its claims processing system and its name, which forced a Tax ID change. And then came the pandemic.

Salud hired some of the remaining hospital staff and brought in others. We brought in our data science team and a complete array of boutique services, which reduced AR and increase
d collections year over year, a substantial achievement amid COVID.
